Alonso oversees post-production and VFX for Marvel, and has executive producer credits on Marvel titles 

Marvel Studios executive vice president of physical production Victoria Alonso named as the next recipient of the Visual Effects Society’s Visionary Award in recognition of her contributions to visual arts and filmed entertainment. 

She's currently executive producing 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' and 'Thor: Ragnarok.'

Virtual reality and augmented reality were the twin obsessions at the eighth annual meeting of the VFX society, but sometimes you can't fool mother nature.

The Visual Effects Society announced the winneers of its annual awards show yesterday, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens and HBO's Game of Thrones won four awards each. 

The 14th VES Awards has seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Game Of Thrones dominating the nominations and stealing the spotlight by bringing home the most number of awards too.

The Revenant’s three wins were for Outstanding Compositing for The Bear; Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects; and Outstanding Animated Performance in a Photoreal Feature for The Bear.

The other nominees for best visual effects in a feature film were “Furious 7,” “San Andreas,” “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “The Martian.”

Director Ridley Scott received a lifetime achievement award while conceptual artist Syd Mead received the society’s Visionary Award.
