Satoshi Yamaguchi
I started my career in the early days of digital imaging in Japan, working with 3DCG for flight simulators, special effects for films and commercials, previsualization, and most recently XR / AVR system development.
From analog, film-based compositing to motion-control shooting, digital compositing, stereoscopic imagery, virtual production, and real-time & AI-driven workflows, I have been evolving my technical practice together with the needs of the production floor.
My goal now is to bridge advanced imaging and XR / AVR technologies into fields beyond entertainment—such as manufacturing, construction, education and safety training—to support digital transformation and human-resource development in Japan.
- Mar 1989 B.Eng. in Electronics, Chiba Institute of Technology
- Apr 1989 Joined Hitachi Denshi (now Hitachi Kokusai Electric)
Worked on professional flight simulator development (software and 3DCG assets).
Seconded to Hitachi Central Research Laboratory for 3DCG training (1994–1995). - Apr 1997 Joined IMAGICA (now IMAGICA Lab.)Film & CM
Special effects unit: FX shooting & compositing, previsualization launch, server administration.
- Jan 2012 Joined IDA Inc. (Previs Supervisor)
- Apr 2012 Went freelance as Previs Supervisor
- Mar 2013 Founded ACW-DEEP Inc.Founder / CEO
- Jul 2015 Founded Previs Society Asia (–2020)
- Jan 2022 ACW-DEEP joined SWCC Group
- Apr 2024 ACW-DEEP merged into SWCC Corporation
- Aug 2024 Started XR system development with Adely Planning (contract)
- Apr 2025 – Joined Adely Planning Co., Ltd. / XR system development
While digital technology is rapidly evolving in Japan, many organizations are still struggling with DX and with cultivating the right talent. Imaging and XR technologies have huge potential far beyond entertainment.
By applying these technologies to manufacturing, construction, medical, disaster-prevention and many other fields, I aim to create training systems that enhance understanding, reduce workload on-site, and ultimately improve the quality of human-resource development.
Combining visual storytelling, real-time technology, and on-site communication, I hope to co-create new value together with partners in industry, academia and local communities.
