Rogerio T. Gasi
Rogério Tavares Gasi is a Brazilian technology leader based in Los Angeles whose career spans two decades across game development, film visualization, and virtual production. He currently leads engineering at Halon Entertainment, focusing the team on what differentiates the studio: bespoke pipelines that adapt seamlessly to each client's workflow. He has a deep passion for management and leadership philosophies, and builds data-driven systems that empower teams to measure reality and continuously improve. His film credits include Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, John Wick: Chapter 4, Atlas, Pixels, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Fortnite cinematics.
Gasi began his career in São Paulo during the pre-smartphone era of mobile gaming, working on titles for carriers and handsets that predated iOS and Android. He joined Electronic Arts when the company opened its Brazilian studio and rose from engineer to studio manager over five years, shipping titles including Real Racing 2, FIFA 12, The Sims 3, and Need for Speed: Shift. That experience of building games under tight performance constraints for hundreds of device configurations shaped his engineering instincts around optimization, scalable pipelines, and removing friction for creative teams.
He transitioned into film visualization through Halon in 2015, initially as a technical consultant developing real-time tools for directors, including early R&D on large-format immersive rendering for venues like MSG Sphere. He moved to Los Angeles in 2019 and now leads engineering at Halon.
His current work spans virtual production and generative AI, both driven by the same principle: giving creative people more autonomy. For Halon's LED volume, he engineered the stage infrastructure and built real-time motion capture tools that let directors and actors control their own shots without waiting on technical support. On the AI side, he develops tools that turn concept art into 3D environments, giving artists the ability to explore more ideas faster and earlier in production.
