Rick Hack
Rick operates as Intel's liaison to M&E companies pursuing transformational tech-based partnerships and strategic relationships. He's responsible for engaging industry thought leaders, influencers, technical decision makers, and policy makers to solve industry challenges and drive early adoption of new technologies, solutions, platforms, and products. In this capacity, Rick has led a number of groundbreaking projects including envisioning futuristic entertainment experiences inside autonomous vehicles, immersive VR recreations in location-based experiences for the film Dunkirk, and the simulation of creating a megalodon shark for the release of The Meg leveraging AI and ML technologies – all with Warner Bros.
Most recently, Rick has been recognized with two Tech Innovation Awards for his work to help deliver the first 8K live stream over the open internet with Tokyo 2020 Olympics and was part of the team which was nominated for a 2023 Sports Emmy for Immersive 8K delivery of content for Beijing 2022 with NBCU.
Rick also exec produced immersive experiences with Paramount Pictures for the iconic film GREASE re-creating “You’re the One That I Want” with Intel Studios premiering at CannesXR and winning a Lumiere Award. In addition, he orchestrated the team to develop one of the first live 4K over 5G broadcast for the 2018 US Open Golf with FOX Innovation Labs, FOX Sports, Ericsson and AT&T.
Prior to Intel, Rick operated as a consultant for various M&E entities including being Head of Content Strategy for Michael Bay's transmedia company -The Institute where he assisted in the re-boot branding of the 'Need for Speed' video game franchise with a number of visual assets. Earlier in his career he was Head of Entertainment for CBS Radio and produced 'Live from the Web Carpet', a livestream, red carpet coverage for the premieres of Transformers, Bourne Ultimatum, and CBS TV series. Beyond Rick’s Intel gig, he is Secretary of the BOD for one of the leading M&E trade organizations - Digital Entertainment Group (DEG). But, before he ventured in the business side of entertainment, Rick fronted several rock bands opening for artists including Haim, Big Country, Tonic, Modern English, and Marcy Playground where his music has been placed in various film releases.
