Patrick Doran
Started career in 2008 as an Environment Artist for Nintendo Wii games such as Mushroom Men, Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2, Thor: God of Thunder, and Food Network's Cook or Be Cooked. After dipping my toe in VFX on Food Network's Cook or Be Cooked, I became hooked on VFX and realized I had to restart everything to become the best VFX artist possible. I spent several years on the indie project Stone Rage, where I was given free reign to experiment and push my own limits in whatever direction I wanted, from textures and shaders to dismemberment and gore. I then took on my first fully published VFX role job in 2017 at Disruptive Games on the PSVR title Megalith. After that I was hired at Sledgehammer Games where my second title Vanguard was awarded by VES in the category of realtime VFX. Shortly after I joined the VES and it has been a very magical experience for me that truly made me feel like "I have arrived". I love VES and my greatest goal is to win another VES award in my lifetime. It's a difficult goal but that's what makes it worth achieving.
