Lucas Janin

Recently joined Benuts as a VFX Supervisor in Brussels, I’m working on European movies and shows that include on-set supervision.

Previously, in Canada, I contributed to seven projects as a CG Supervisor at DNEG, including Spy Kids: Armageddon, 1899, and Peter Pan and Wendy. I also served as an Associate VFX Supervisor, known as DFX Supervisor at DNEG, on the films The Gorge (Apple TV+) in 2023-2024 and Moonshot (HBO Max) in 2021. Part of these projects includes direct communication with the clients. Additionally, I worked in advertising as an On-Set VFX Supervisor.

Before, I have 20 years of experience in the effects department. As an FX supervisor, I contributed to major projects such as Blade Runner 2049 at Framestore and Dune at DNEG. As an FX lead, I worked on BFG, a Spielberg movie at Weta, and several animated movies at DreamWorks Animation, like How to Train Your Dragon 2, Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2, and Puss in Boots.

Throughout my career, I have developed a strong ability to interpret clients’ visions and provide creative solutions to enhance their projects. My background in photography has given me a deeper understanding of composition and lighting, which has proven to be an asset in my work on visual effects.
