Felipe Luiz de Andrade
A reliable professional with 17 years of experience in the VFX field, complemented by a B.A. in 3D Animation and Illustration. He began his career teaching computer science and creating graphic materials, which sparked his interest in computer graphics (CG). In 2005, he started training as a specialist in post-production, a journey that lasted two years.
In 2007, he entered the field of computer graphics professionally, working at a small company focused on 3D animation for characters and educational materials. By 2009, he joined Brazil's largest VFX studio, where he worked as a CG Generalist on high-profile projects with Blizzard, Mattel, and Sprint. He remained there until the company’s closure in late 2012.
Following this, he transitioned to the largest television network in Latin America, where he worked in the R&D department to develop and enhance CG shots for Brazilian TV series. He also contributed on set as a second unit. During his time there, he and his department received multiple awards for Best FX in national television, solidifying his reputation as a skilled artist. In this period, he became a member in good standing of the Visual Effects Society (VES).
In 2017, he relocated to Canada to work at the leading VFX house in Winnipeg, contributing to Netflix shows that went on to win Emmy Awards. After the studio’s closure, he moved to Quebec to join the DNEG build team, where he worked on major feature films such as Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Dune: Part 2. His work on Dune: Part 2 was recognized with an Academy Award nomination for Best VFX Scene.
