Dave Zeevalk
Dave Zeevalk is the Founder and CEO of Mosaic Studios, a cloud-native visual effects company specializing in high-end episodic, feature film, and commercial work. With more than two decades of experience in visual effects, Dave has built a career that spans hands-on artistry, supervision, production leadership, and studio operations.
Beginning his career as a CG artist and compositor, Dave advanced through a variety of creative and leadership roles before serving as Vice President of Visual Effects and Executive Producer at Assembly VFX. There, he helped guide the studio's growth while overseeing large-scale visual effects productions for major studios, networks, and streaming platforms.
In 2024, Dave founded Mosaic Studios alongside longtime technology partner Luiz Garrido. Built as a fully cloud-based studio from day one, Mosaic was designed to combine world-class creative talent with modern infrastructure, enabling scalable, secure, and artist-friendly visual effects production. Under Dave's leadership, the company has rapidly expanded its global footprint, delivering work for clients including Netflix, FX, Amazon, Peacock, Columbia Pictures, and others.
Throughout his career, Dave has been committed to building strong teams, fostering transparent client relationships, and creating production environments where artists can thrive. His experience spans hundreds of visual effects projects across television, feature films, commercials, and emerging media, with work contributing to critically acclaimed productions such as Ripley, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Davis, Three Women, Supacell, The Beauty, and Caught Stealing.
A frequent advocate for innovation within the visual effects industry, Dave regularly speaks on topics including cloud-based studio operations, scalable production workflows, remote collaboration, and the future of visual effects technology.
