Colin Campbell, VES

I have 38 years' experience in animation and visual effects, working at many of the major effects facilities such as Industrial Light and Magic, Sony Imageworks, Rhythm & Hues, Digital Domain, and Tippett Studios, among many others.

I started shooting animation effects programming Tondreau motion control systems on Oxberrys and Mechanical Concepts animation camera stands, stage, and matte stand rigs.

Over my career I have worked using a variety of compositing software packages including Nuke, Nuke X, Shake, Wavefront Composer, Matador, Elastic Reality, and in-house proprietary packages on numerous major motion pictures while helping mentor and train the next generation of future artists.

I have been an active member of the Visual Effects Society for 23 years, beginning my 7th term on the global board of directors in January 2026, and inaugural Chair of the Texas Section. Co-chair of Working from Home and Remote Committee, member of Outreach Committee, and Strategic Planning Committee.
