Billy Brooks
After beginning my career at Industrial Light & Magic (way back when Suddenly Susan was still a thing), I returned to ILM years later and spent 19 months supervising multiple Virtual Art Department teams. While at Pixomondo, I had the opportunity to lead several major virtual production shoots with their talented virtual art department and stage opp teams. Virtual production is endlessly engaging—it genuinely makes me excited to start work every day.
Prior to my most recent stint at Pixomondo, I owned Mind & Machine VFX, where I served as both a VFX Supervisor (on and off set) and VFX Producer. In recent years, I’ve worked as a VP Supervisor on Doctor Who and Dope Girls for the BBC, a vendor-side VFX Supervisor on Ridley Scott’s Raised by Wolves, and a VFX Supervisor/Producer on SyFy's Con Man with Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion—among many other fun projects. I’m based in the UK but love to travel, and frequently do for shoots.
I attended the film school at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and furthered my education at the School of Communication Arts. I am a member of the Visual Effects Society (natch), ASIFA Hollywood, BMI, and The Animation Guild.
In my spare time, I'm also an award winning electronic musician, an avid digital photographer.
