Alejandro Rivas – Senior Digital Compositor
I am a digital compositor with over 10 years of experience in the visual effects (VFX) industry.I graduated in Animation from U-Tad in 2018, and I began my professional career in 2016 when I joined El Ranchito VFX while still studying.
During that time, I developed a large part of my artistic career, contributing to numerous national and international productions. I also worked as a compositing trainer in the studio’s internal school, training artists to join the team.
I have worked on projects such as Game of Thrones (S7 and S8), Halo (S2), A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, John Wick 3, and Stranger Things (S4), among others, some of which have been recognized with Emmy, VES, and HPA awards.
At a national level, I was part of teams awarded the Goya for Best Special Effects for Superlópez and Way Down.
Currently, I work as a compositor at The SPA Studios, combining my work in the industry with teaching as a digital compositing instructor and mentor at universities and specialized schools.

Role with the VES

I am part of the Board of the VES Spain section, contributing to the development of the chapter. I began my involvement as a judge and media operator during the first editions of the VES voting panels in Spain.

Within the Board, I serve as Outreach, supporting the integration of new members who wish to become part of this community of outstanding artists in Spain.
