Alan Markowitz

Alan Markowitz is an award-winning visual effects producer with over four decades of experience in filmmaking and visual effects production. He has specialized in large-format, giant-screen, and special-venue cinema since 1993, contributing visual effects to more than 80 IMAX films. Earlier in his career, he worked on over 300 film and television productions across traditional formats.

Since founding Visceral Image Productions in 2005, Alan has continued his focus on IMAX and destination cinema projects, bringing a hands-on, collaborative approach to each production. His work bridges traditional filmmaking craft with contemporary 2D and 3D digital production, emphasizing practical problem-solving and close creative collaboration with artists, technicians, directors, and producers.

Alan remains deeply engaged in the evolving craft of giant-screen storytelling and continues to collaborate with filmmakers to create immersive visual experiences for audiences around the world.
