SUMMARY:Screening - Pride w/ Q&A (London)
DESCRIPTION:The VES London Section invites all members and their guests to a screening of\n\n	 \n\n	Pride\n\n	 \n\n	followed by a Q&A with the visual effects supervisor\n\n	 \n\n\n Wednesday the 3rd of December\n\n Doors and drinks at 6pm for a 7pm start\n\n		 \n\n Molinare\n\n 34 Foubert’s Place\n\n London W1F 7PX\n\n		 \n\n Directed by Matthew Warchus and starring Bill Nighy\, Imelda Staunton\, Dominic West\, Paddy Considine\, Andrew Scott\, George MacKay\, Joseph Gilgun & Ben Schnetzer. Visual effects by Nvizible.\n\n		 \n\n\n Set in the summer of 1984 – Margaret Thatcher is in power and the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) is on strike. At the Gay Pride March in London\, a group of gay and lesbian activists decides to raise money to support the families of the striking miners. But there is a problem. The Union seems embarrassed to receive their support. \n\n			 \n\n But the activists are not deterred. They decide to ignore the Union and go direct to the miners. They identify a mining village in deepest Wales and set off in a mini bus to make their donation in person. And so begins the extraordinary story of two seemingly alien communities who form a surprising and ultimately triumphant partnership.\n\n			 \n\n\n Ambition\n\n				 \n\n Imagine: with a wasteland as their canvas\, a Master and his young Apprentice set about turning rubble into planets and moons\, asteroids and comets. They levitate the worlds above their heads\, spinning them in orbit around their symbolic Sun.\n\n				 \n\n Tomek Bagiński’s short film Ambition is a collaboration with the European Space Agency to celebrate their pioneer Rosetta mission\, an ambitious attempt to put a probe on the surface of a comet.\n\n				 \n\n With visual effects by Platige Image. Screened before the evening’s feature presentation.\n\n				 \n\n				 \n\n The panel includes:\n\n				 \n\n\n Hugh MacDonald\, VFX Supervisor\, Nvizible\n\n  \nModerator: Brooke Lyndon-Stanford \n \n \n\nClick Here To Register
