VES 2001 is pleased to present the visual effects from all four Star Trek television series hosted by actor Michael Dorn\, “Worf” in Star Trek: The Next Generation. And\, the all star panels for Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Star Wars are truly a once in lifetime experience encompassing a “who’s who” of visual effects master artists. VES extends its gratitude to all of the Festival participants and those who contributed their time and effort in helping to put the Festival together. \nVES recognizes the importance of work that serves to inspire us all. SUMMARY:VES 2003 A Festival of Visual Effects
DESCRIPTION:This year marks the fifth anniversary of VES festivals in the United States.  Last year\, VES 2002 journeyed to San Rafael\, California.  This gave both VES members and non-members from Northern California the opportunity to experience the festival.  The attendance was great\, and we truly enjoyed the change of venue.  As such\, VES plans to return to the Bay Area in the near future\, and VES is always looking for interesting locations to host the festival. \nVES wishes to thank all of the wonderfully creative individuals and teams who have put together this year’s presentations.  These presentations take time and money to produce.  VES understands the scope of commitment that our presenters make to this process.  VES appreciates all of the efforts that our presenters contribute. \nVES would like to express a special thank you to ILM\, Warner Bros. and C2 Pictures for providing the visual effects presentation for T3 before the film is released.  This is a first for VES and we sincerely hope this will open the door to having other work presented at our festivals prior to the release of the project to the public.  This emphasizes the growing role that visual effects have on contemporary storytelling. \n\n	Visit the Full 2003 VES Festival of Visual Effects Page
