They’ll walk through their methodology\, the key decisions that shaped the project\, and the cutting-edge internal advancements including AI-driven workflows that made one of their most ambitious collaborations possible. Expect a candid conversation about the challenges\, breakthroughs\, and lessons learned from a project that pushed the boundaries of immersive storytelling. \nAn Evening With…\nVES NY continues their new series\, a dedicated forum for the region’s premier VFX vendors to showcase groundbreaking work and novel techniques. The goal is to share knowledge\, inspire great work\, and connect VES members\, students and graduates with great companies. \nThis event is open to VES members and the SVA community and their guests. Please arrive prior to 7pm. \nPresenters:\nDavid Eschrich\nDavid Eschrich is the Global Head of 3D at Zoic Studios\, where he brings a deep understanding of the visual effects pipeline to his leadership role. With a background spanning modeling\, lookdev\, lighting\, grooming\, and environment creation\, David takes a multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving\, always favoring procedural solutions when possible. \nHe has served on the Television Academy SVFX Peer Group Executive Committee and as Co-Chair of the VES New York Section. A VES and Emmy nominee\, David is passionate about optimizing workflows and is known for diving deep into both technical and artistic challenges to uncover creative\, efficient solutions. \nNate Overstrom\nNate Overstrom is a Creative Director at Zoic Studios\, where he has spent more than 20 years helping shape the studio’s creative vision and growth. For over a decade\, he has led the New York team\, guiding artists and supervisors across a diverse range of feature films\, television series\, and commercial projects. Serving as both a Creative Director and VFX Supervisor\, Nate specializes in CG integration\, live-action compositing\, and developing innovative visual solutions that support storytelling while meeting the technical demands of cutting edge production. \nA multiple award nominated VFX Supervisor. Throughout his career\, Nate has received multiple VES Award nominations and three Emmy Award nominations\, including Emmy recognition for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for his work on Apple TV+’s acclaimed series See. His extensive body of work includes contributions to Emmy Award-winning and Academy Award-winning productions\, earning a reputation for combining artistic vision with technical expertise.
