VES Members and a guest are invited to the ninth meeting of the Virtual Production Committee featuring a case study of “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”. 

Directed by Matt Reeves, the epic sequel to “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” features an expanded cast of characters that were realized through the latest developments in virtual production. For the occasion the committee welcomes VES member, Dan Lemmon, who was Visual Effects Supervisor on the movie.   Dan will guide us through the case study and explain, amongst other topics, how performance capture was “liberated” from the constraints of indoor sound stages and brought outside.
