VES Georgia – Sweep the Hooch

Help clean up the Chattahoochee River on Saturday, March 21st, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM as part of Sweep the Hooch, an annual cleanup event with sites throughout metro Atlanta and along the river from Helen down to Columbus.

Registration opens February 14th. Each person registers individually through the Sweep the Hooch website and can add “VES Georgia” as their group name. We’ll be coordinating preferred sites through Discord and email so VES members can meet up.

Volunteer as a walker/wader (land-based cleanup in shallow water, waterproof shoes or boots recommended) or bring your own kayak, canoe, or SUP to paddle a 3-5 mile section of river. Kids 10+ can participate with adult supervision.

Each site has a volunteer cap, so check the map below for capacity numbers and coordinate your preferred site early to help us cluster together.
