Stretching Reality: The VFX of ONE PIECE
Join the Framestore team for a behind-the-scenes look at the visual effects behind Netflix’s ONE PIECE Season 2, Into the Grand Line. Through a showcase of the studio’s work, the team will explore the creative and technical process of translating one of the world’s most beloved manga into live action, sharing how visual effects, animation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration helped bring its iconic characters and world to the screen.
Hosted by VFX Supervisor Andy Zazzera and Senior VFX Producer Sophia Lee, alongside Animation Supervisors Jon Burke and Jim Hundertmark, and CG Supervisor Shawn Lipowski, the session will dive into Framestore’s approach to evolving Luffy’s Devil Fruit abilities, creating Season 2 newcomers Smoker and Wapol, and developing the performance-driven character of fan-favorite Tony Tony Chopper. Throughout the session, the team will discuss the creative and technical balance of preserving the bold, expressive spirit of the manga while crafting grounded, believable visual effects for live action that make ONE PIECE one of a kind.
